Norman Alton Dozier

Mr. Norman Alton Dozier of Ashford died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at his residence. He was 73.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Albritton officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302 or to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Dozier was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Donalsonville, Ga., the son of the late Russ Alton Dozier and Ada Bell Barber Dozier. He had four years of Navy service and was a member of the Sheet Metal Local 441. Mr. Dozier loved farming, raising cattle and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russ Dozier, his mother, Ada Bell Dozier, and brother, Lamar Dozier.
Survivors include wife, Gail Dozier of Ashford; son, Steve Dozier of Ashford; grandchildren, Misty Dozier Kyle and her husband, Sam of Pansey; great-grandchildren, Baylea and Luke Kyle of Pansey; Sisters, Carolyn Jones and her husband, Rusty of Dothan, Kayren Singletary and her husband, Kenneth of Panama City, Fla.; brother, Royce Dozier and his wife, Eunice of Gordon.
Active pallbearers will be Steven Dillard, Vann Granger, Ritchie Singletary, Eddie Tolar (Sonny), George Wallace Hughes (Gator) and Brannon Ingalls.
Honorary pallbearer is Charles Henry Brunson.
