RUSSELL SCROGGINS Obituary

Russell Martin Scroggins Graveside services for Mr. Russell Martin Scroggins, 57, of Eufaula, were held Friday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m. in the Clayton Cemetery. Father Bob Henderson officiated with Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Mr. Scroggins died Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. Born Dec. 29, 1955 in Eufaula, Mr. Scroggins was the son of the late William Taylor and Jeanne Martin Scroggins. Martin was a graduate of Dixie Academy. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He retired after 35 years in the steel building manufacturing industry. He was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church. He was a past member of the Lakeside School Board. He loved to hunt and fish and he enjoyed his farm and cows. Survivors include his wife, Verna Scroggins of Eufaula; two sons, Austen Scroggins and Taylor Scroggins both of Eufaula; one brother, Bill (Barbara) Scroggins of Clayton; two sisters, Benelle (Bobby) Warr and Harriet (Larry) Seaborn both of Clayton. Honorary pallbearers were Allen "Bro" Lane, Steve Wallace, Tony Hurst, Jerry Williams, Shane Seaborn, Dave Allen, Bob Warr, Greg Warr, Jamey Rogers and Terry Murphy.
