John Primasing Obituary

John Raymond Primasing Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 31, 2025. He was born on September 6, 1929, in Sacramento, California, the eldest son of Dr. Raymond Primasing and Esther Hathaway Primasing. John grew up in Hood alongside his younger brother, Dell. He attended Christian Brothers High School, where he lettered in football. Much to his father's dismay, John once bought a couple of dairy cows, kept them in the garage, and sold milk to earn spending money-an early sign of the entrepreneurial spirit and love of animals that would shape his life. John went on to attend Cal Poly, graduating with a degree in Animal Husbandry. While there, he met the love of his life, June Bishop Green, on a blind date. They married 2 years later and recently celebrated 73 years together. After graduation, John enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, where he served honorably as a Staff Sergeant. Following his service, John and June returned to Northern California, settling on a ranch in Elk Grove to raise Angus cattle and their five children, all of whom attended Elk Grove High School. John later began a distinguished 33-year career in banking, starting as an Agricultural Field Officer with Crocker Bank and later serving in senior leadership roles, including President of First Security Bank of Elk Grove and Chief Credit Officer at Farmers & Merchants Bank of Lodi. He also worked with Bank of Alex Brown during his career. Deeply committed to his community, John was a member of the United Congregational Church of Lodi and served 6 terms as moderator. John gave generously of his time and talents. He served as President of both the Elk Grove and Lodi Rotary Clubs, chaired the Franklin-Laguna Planning Council, and contributed to the Cosumnes River College Agricultural Advisory Board, the American Red Cross Board, the Lodi Women's Center, served on the Lodi Animal Commission, and was a Board Director of Woodbridge Country Club. Above all, John was devoted to his family. He and June shared a remarkable partnership that spanned more than seven decades. He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be remembered for his booming voice, hearty laugh, and unwavering presence. John is survived by his wife, June of Stockton; children John Jr. (Rene) of Clements, Patty (Roy) of Cle Elum, WA, Michael (late wife Lori) of Sunset, SC, and Yvonne (Brock) of Wilmington, DE, along with seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. John is predeceased by his son Steve. The family wishes to thank Hospice of San Juaquin County and the nursing staff at Meadowood of O'Connor Woods for their dedicated care. In John's memory donations may be made to Children of the Nations https://go.cotni.org/primasing or San Juaquin County Hospice hospicesj.org A private service will be held at his request.

My deepest condolences to June and family. John was a true gentleman and a great friend to my dad when they served together on the bank board. This saddens me terribly. He will be greatly missed.
