ELKHART - Floyd E. Morrison Jr., 84, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at his home.
Floyd was born on Sept. 13, 1936, in Elkhart to Floyd E. Morrison, Sr. and Rosetta (Mabie) Morrison. He was married to the late, Sally Jo (Hardy) Morrison on July 7, 1959.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sally; daughter, Brenda Fazalare; and brother, William "Bill" C. Morrison.
Floyd is survived by his children, Floyd (Barb) Morrison III and Denise Morrison, both of Elkhart; sisters, Nancy Durie of Elkhart, Rosa Mary (Frank) Conner of Michigan and Patricia (Ronald) Powell of Elkhart; grandchildren, Floyd (LouAnn) IV Morrison, Ryan (Nici) Morrison, Bethany (Burnell) King, Freddy Fazalare and Brittany Morrison; and nine great-grandchildren.
Floyd worked as a slug loader at NIBCO in Elkhart for 42 years. He and his wife were members of Life Tabernacle (Elkhart Life) Church. In his younger days, Floyd enjoyed bowling. He was a self-taught man who learned everything from how to play his guitar to fixing and putting together anything! Most of all, Floyd had a big heart and was always willing to help someone in need.
A funeral service for Floyd will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from noon to 1 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
