I became acquainted with Melissa as a fellow DRE when she would host deanery meetings at Sacred Heart. She did a beautiful job of preparing materials for us and snacks, too! I also attended Mass occasionally at Sacred Heart and heard her sing and play guitar for Mass. She was such a good person and devoted to her faith, surely she is resting in God's loving embrace. My sympathy goes out to Anna and all of her family and friends. Although it is sad to loose a loved-one, it is a great comfort to know that she was a person of faith.

As a co-worker in the Lord's Vineyard with Melissa, I can say she touched a lot of lives and in many ways, was the life blood of Sacred Heart of Mary parish. I will always remember her for her enthusiasm, generosity, kindness, and willingness to host our deanery meetings, and "spread the table" for her fellow DRE's. She leaves a large hole not only at her parish, and in the diocese, but in our hearts.

Melissa was such an inspiring person and she will be missed greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with her friends and family during this difficult time. I will always remember Melissa as a child of God and find comfort that she is with Him.

Anna, I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful mother. She has been one of the most amazing friends I have ever had. She was always ready to lend a hand or take over if it was needed. She loved and interacted with every young child she met and they all loved her back. Any project I worked on with her was fun and involved good treats. I´m sure I will miss her every day for the rest of my life.
