Michael Dean Geyer, 78, Elkhart, formerly of Nappanee, died at 9:31 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 25, 1943, in Goshen, to Dean and Ruth (Johnson) Geyer. On May 1, 1970, in Nappanee, he married Karen (Dausman) Geyer and she died Oct. 8, 2005.
Surviving are daughters Lori (Doug) Kime, Westville, Florida, and Lynn (Todd) Wallsmith, Knox; four grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Kime, Jeana Lorraine Kime, Peter David Wallsmith and Alexander Michael Wallsmith; and fiancée Kim (Hunsberger) Anderson, Elkhart.
Preceding him in death are his parents and wife, Karen.
Michael served in the U.S. Air Force and received a B.A. He worked at Horizon Transport, Chore Time Brock, Whiteford International and Troyer Foods. Michael was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church. He was a sports fan, especially football and basketball, and enjoyed golfing.
Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. with a memorial service following at 4 p.m., all on Friday, May 6, at Dunlap United Methodist Church, 23674 U.S. 33, Elkhart. Pastor Melissa Englehart and Pastor Ben Carpenter will officiate. Private family burial will be at Union Center Cemetery with military honors.

I often think of Mike when I am in Nappanee, one of the many good friends that I have lost in recent years, he was a good friend and a fellow Air Force veteran, one of the good guys for sure.
