Gloria Salcedo Obituary


GLORIA SALCEDO, born January 11, 1922 in El Paso, Texas, passed away November 1, 2007. A longtime resident of El Paso, Gloria was a graduate of Bowie High, where she was a cheerleader and member of the ROTC. In addition to being a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, Gloria worked for the EPISD for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. She is preceded in death by her parents, Modesto (Nono) and Maria de Jesus (Nona) Gomez, and her brother Tito Gomez. She is survived by her sister, Ofie Camilli; her four children: Bobby Salcedo and wife Sandy, Marcia McNamee and husband Mike, Liz Alvillar and husband Tony, and Mary Martinez; and her 10 grandchildren: Tom Osborne and wife Paula, Kenny Osborne and wife Miriam, Becca Clark and husband Chris, Trey Fraker and wife Liz, Michelle Hart and husband Rob, Gina Hembree and husband Adrian, Kyle Lord and husband Adam, Ramiro Martinez Jr., Hope Martinez and Mercedes Martinez. In addition, Gloria was loved by 10 great grandchildren: Christian, Shelby, Andrew, Miles, Griffin, Conner, Rowan, Ashlyn, Hudson and Zachery. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 500 W. Sunset Road. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 12:00 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home West. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Modesto A. Gomez Scholarship Fund, 217 Oleander Way, El Paso, TX 79922. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, TX 79912
