John De Weerd

John De Weerd passed away March 22, 2009. He was born October 21, 1929 in Sioux Center, Iowa. He was a resident of El Paso since 1962. Preceding him in death was father & mother Ray & Grace De Weerd, sister Trina Schumck, baby Harriet & brother Henry De Weerd. He is survived by his wife Lorraine of 56 years. Two sons and one daughter, David De Weerd & wife Debbie of Phoenix, AZ, Donald De Weerd of Lancaster, TX and daughter Valorie Pandak of Pecos, TX, one grandson, Christopher Robertson & wife Robyn, two great-granddaughters Krystal & Samantha of London, England. Sister-in-law Chyrl Klaahsen of Pringar, IA, brother Charles De Weerd & wife Janet of Copperas Cove, TX, sister Harriet Ables of Sioux Falls, SD, sister-in-law Katheryn De Weerd of Benton, AK, numerous nieces & nephews and many friends. John graduated from Reisch Auction College , Insurance Adjuster & El Paso Security Academy. Furthermore he owned Ascarate Rentals, El Paso Quick Set Concrete Co. & JDW Construction Co. A member of St. Luke United Methodist Church he was also an upstanding member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Texas and New Mexico. He has been President of the El Maida Shrine Clown Unit, Member, Masonic Lodge #1137 & El Paso Scottish Rite Bodies of El Paso, TX. The viewing will be held on March 25th at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina at 09:30 AM with funeral services staring at 10:00AM.
