Marianne P. Kalvelage

1930 - 2021

Marianne P. Kalvelage, nee Park, 91, Washington, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, with her family by her side.

She was born Feb. 4, 1930, in Evanston, Illionois, to the late Louis Park and wife Mary, nee Christopher. Marianne loved to read science fiction and biographies, listen to Broadway music, sing, play games on her iPad and talk with her children and grandchildren on the phone. Her other loves were scratch-off lottery tickets, antiquing, Star Trek, Harry Potter, binge-watching Netflix, eating out and white zinfandel. Her wicked sense of humor was well known and stayed with her until the end.

Marianne is survived by her sons, Steve Kalvelage, Seattle, Washington, Dave (Marian) Kalvelage, Grant's Pass, Oregon, and Tom Kalvelage, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughters, Barbara (Tom) Holtmeier and Karen Kalvelage, all of Washington; grandchildren, Alexander Kalvelage, Reno, Nevada, Mark Kalvelage, Rapid City, South Dakota, Mary Holtmeier and fiance^ Trent Leimkuehler, Sam Holtmeier, all of St. Louis, and Hope Kalvelage, Grant's Pass, Oregon; dear friends, Toots, Louis and Lisa McCaslin, all of Sandwich, Illinois, and Diane and Bruce Hughes, Osceola, Wisconsin; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Kalvelage; parents, Louis and Mary Park; mother-in-law, Gertrude Kalvelage, nee Graf; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Janet Park; sisters-in-law, Jean Kalvelage and Mercedes Kalvelage; and brother- and sister-in-law, Joe and Jackie Kalvelage.

A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 11:30 a.m at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington. The Mass will be livestreamed on St. Francis Borgia Parish's Facebook page.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Elementary Vocal Music Program at St. Francis Borgia Grade School, 225 Cedar St., Washington, MO 63090.
