Albert E. Fuchs

1933 - 2018

Albert E. Fuchs, age 84, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2018.

He was born in Erie, on December 5, 1933, a son of the late Ernest and Velma Pero Fuchs.

Albert was stationed in Germany as a Medic for the Army during the Korean War. He formerly worked for PENNDOT, was the owner and operator of Wash Metals Reclaiming Co., and retired from the MDAnderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. After moving back to Erie, he worked for Tops Market for over 15 years and played Santa Claus during their holiday seasons. He was a Mason, an avid antique collector and liked to play the lottery.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Thompson Fuchs, and three brothers, Herbert, Ernest Paul and Robert Fuchs.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Brenneman Reckhart Fuchs, whom he married on September 8, 2001, a son, Tom Fuchs of Florida, a daughter, Dawn Finley of Florida, a stepdaughter, Kenda Hoovler (Tom) of Fredonia, Pa., and a stepson, Faron Reckhart of Cochranton, Pa. Two sisters, Norma Broderick of Leeper, Pa. and Joyce Metzenbacher (Bill) of Waterford, Pa., a brother, Edward Kestel of Erie, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
