Bertha Murel Obituary
Bertha L. Murel, age 37, of Erie, died Monday, October 6, 2014, at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Hollandale, Mississippi on April 15, 1977, the daughter of Willie B. Murel and Vera Wallace Kafando.
Bertha graduated from Central High School in 1994 and worked as a personal care attendant. She liked family gatherings and singing; loved her kids and sports; especially the Seattle Seahawks.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Ree Green and her paternal grandmother, Bertha Lee Murel.
In addition to her parents, Bertha is survived by her four children, Diquan Warren, Dimarius Murel, DiShaylah Warren, and Dimera Ward; her companion, Derrick Overton; ten siblings, Dominic Wallace, Angelo Murel Pulliam, Shaletha Lavette Murel, Patricia Ann Murel, Willie B. Murel III and his wife, Brandi, Thomas Edwin Wallace, Bobby Jean Murel, Dominique Alice Kafando, Paul Joseph Kafando and Samson Manoah Kafando, Monique Adams, Yvonne Gearring, Belvin Murel, and Laurann Murel; her maternal grandfather, James Odester Green; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins..
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 602 West 10th Street, on Monday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Additional calling and services will be at James Harris Funeral Home in Greenville, Mississipi.
