Beverly Smego Obituary
Beverly "Bev" Smego, age 65, of Greene Township, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Select Specialty Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born on August 10, 1950, in Corning, N.Y., daughter of the late William Pierce and Alta Mattoon Pierce Shaffer, and stepdaughter of the late Roy Shaffer.
Bev was employed with CRI as a caregiver. She enjoyed camping, spending time with family and friends, crossword puzzles, and reading.
Bev is survived by her husband of 47 years, Paul Smego; one daughter, Paula Smego (Dave); two sons, Paul Smego, Jr. (Stephany), Christopher (Andrea); son-in-law, Dale Homan; daughter-in-law, Rochelle Smego; 11 grandchildren, Adrian, Josh, Dale Jr., Paulie, Matthew, Allie, Katrina, Jamie, Dwight, Gavin, and Addison; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bev was preceded in death by her sister, Donna; and her brother, Eddie.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Tuesday at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Pete Lamp. Interment will be at St. Gregory Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2115 W. 38th St., Erie, PA 16508.

Here we are 5 yrs later and still seems like yesterday that god wrapped his wings around you ,we miss you horribly, it still just doesn’t seem so real, your were a wonderful wife to Paul and mother to your kids too! But most of all you kept everything in check in life including your friends who also you called family! You were more than a person anyone could asked for

Bev and I went way back to teen years. We were really good friends for many years. Lost touch after getting married but fond memories come flooding back. Always happy. Just who she was. To her family... Paul, you were an awesome husband from day one. I'm sure you took good care of her. She treasured the kids and will not be forgotten.
My prayer is that the Angels wrap their wings around all of you and give you strength to help you with your loss.

To those of you of you who have lost Beverly, a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend, my deepest condolences. If she was anything like the son she raised she was no doubt a wonderful woman. In this time of Lent, the preparation of the resurrection or our Lord, Beverly will share now in that same resurrection to be with Him. While we all grieve deeply, God rejoices in knowing that she now enjoys paradise with Him, where all are healed and whole. Let your tears remind you of the joy and love she brought you and will one day bring you again when you join her. Until then know that she is at peace with God and always is in your hearts forever.

Smego Family I am very sorry to hear the loss of Bev, I will always remember her and how she could sure make you laugh and put a smile on your face even if you just didn't want to smile, it didn't matter she sure made sure you would laugh.
