It took my this long to be able to do this. You were the best brother a sister could ask for. I don't know what I am going to do without you. Nothing will ever be the same again. Who do I have to look out for his little sister and give advice to? I will make sure my kids know what a great uncle they had. As for the baby on the way, he will be named after you, in your honor. I don't know another person who loved life more than you. I love you and I miss you tremendously. Not a day will go by when I don't think about you.

Rick I, and Rick II, I read the obituary and somehow never connected who this was. A patient of mine, Greg Blake was in the office yesterday and told me. I was shocked to say the least. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I have 4 kids myself and just can't imagine.

I want to send my condolences to Ricks family. I am a good friend of Melissa Boyle and that's how I meet Rick. My memories of Rick is that he was a very nice and sweet and good hearted person. It was my pleasure knowing him. I just thank him for being the good person he was to Melissa. Rick was a little quite and he was funny. We all had fun together on the train trip we took and at my son's birthday party. It was my pleasure knowing him. I will never forget his smile. God bless and keep the faith.

My sympathies to the Michaels family during this time of sorrow. I was only able to spend two years with Rick in College, but they were two of the most memorable I have ever had. Rick was a special person and a godd friend. He will be missed but not forgotten.

I met Ricky while I was working at Chico's and must say that in the short time that I knew him..he made a lasting impression on me. What a great guy he was and he truly had a genuine heart..he touched so many lives with that infectious smile. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Its one of those times where words cant explain such sorrow and sadness. But you made my first year of college memorable with the student station crew. Though years went by that we hadnt talked, hearing about your tragedy made me very sad. Hopefully you are up in heaven brightening the world up above. I'm so sorry for the tragic loss of Rick. His love for life, family and friends was immeasurable. He was an amazing and unique individual. He had the ability to make anyone laugh no matter what. Rick impacted my life in so many ways from the very first day I met him and for that I am forever grateful. The memories we made at college and thereafter will always be kept with me. I remember meeting Ricky for the first time about 20 years ago when Steve and I were just dating. He and Christie were two of the sweetest, well-behaved kids I knew. Throughout the years at our annual Christmas get-togethers and chance meetings, I always remember thinking that they were turning into really nice kids. "Kids" quickly turned to "adults" however...particularly this summer when we saw Ricky at a festival downtown, hanging with the guys and going out of his way to stop to talk to us. And then having Christie come to work with me at Erie Insurance and seeing pictures of her beautiful daughter. WOW - where had the time gone??
The most recent chance meeting came when we saw Ricky and Loren in Target. Having met Loren for the first time, I remember commenting to my husband how sweet Loren seemed and how happy they looked together. Loren, my heart breaks for you right now. I am so grateful that we all were together at Christmas this year and that Ricky and Christie still remained so close. Hopefully together you can all get through this OK.
To the entire family and all of Ricky's friends, our sympathies go out to you and our thoughts and prayers are with you. No matter how Ricky touched your life, I'm sure it was positive. He was such a good "kid" and he will be missed so much.

He was the bestfriend/brother anyone could ask for. He bore his way into evryone's hearts and souls that got to know him. He always stood out in a crowd. He wasn't loudest and craziest, it could of been his towering hieght over everyone, but I believe it was much more than that. He had an infectious smile and gravity about him that drew us all togther for some of the best times of our lives. I can honestly say I am proud to call Ricky my friend/brother.

Lauren, I am so terribly saddened by your loss. Ricky was a true "free spirit" who always could make me laugh when I needed it. Whenever I recieved news of Ricky at college, it made me very proud to here what great grades he was getting.
