To the entire Swanson family and his close friends, I met Bill in mid 1970's when he was an Erie cop working at the Central Mall. I was an employee of a drug store there. He was a fun guy and then I remember his time as the "Mayor of Kelso". He was very proud of his children. Very special man in my life's past, I am thankful I had the opportunity to know him. He will be sorely missed.

I regret that I cannot visit you and the funeral tomorrow, however, I want to tell you how much all of us from Academy, Class of 1960, will miss him.
Bill and I met in September, 1957, and as all of our classmates would agree, he was a friend forever. Our reunions will not be the same without Bill.

My friendship with Bill goes back to Academy and when the Swanson family lived on Parkside. It was at Parkside when I met Bill's siblings. Since 1997 whenever I visited Erie, I always contacted Bill. Sometimes we only talked on the phone. Most times, I got to see Bill. Of course, I saw Bill at our Class of 1960 re-unions and collective birthday parties. I am most glad that Bonnie attended our 50th re-union and that Bill made it last year to our collective 70th. I will very much miss Bill. I am glad I called Bill on the day after Christmas. My condolence goes to Bonnie and Richard, Bill 3, Heidi, and Randy, plus their families.
