Joseph B. Hoffmeier Sr.

Joseph B. Hoffmeier, Sr., 94, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born January 23, 1932, in Lower Mount Bethel, he was the son of the late Bernard and Elenor (Deemer) Hoffmeier.Joe was the devoted husband of Liboria "Bebe" T. (Noto) Hoffmeier, with whom he shared more than 66 years of marriage filled with love, faith, and devotion to family.
A 1950 graduate of Easton Catholic High School, Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Liberal Arts from Muhlenberg College in 1974. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Quartermaster aboard the icebreaker, USS ATKA. Following his military service, Joe enjoyed a long and successful career in sales with Mack Printing, where he dedicated 43 years before retiring in 1993.Joe was inducted into the Notre Dame High School Hall of Fame for basketball and remained a lifelong supporter of Notre Dame athletics and college football. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Citizen Hose Company, and a lifetime member of the former FLEAS. A faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, his faith guided him throughout his life.
Above all, Joe treasured time spent with his family. His presence at holidays, celebrations, and countless sporting events for his kids and grandkids brought comfort, laughter, and lasting memories to those he loved.
Survivors: In addition to his beloved wife, Bebe, he is survived by his children, Joan Gorrell and her husband David of Venice, FL, Lisa Lynch and her husband Tim of Hanover Twp., Joseph B. Hoffmeier, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Bethlehem Twp., and Rita Glaser and her husband Bernhard of Johns Creek, GA; his grandchildren, Christine Cannata and her husband Mike, Brian Gorrell, Ryan Lynch and his wife Mary Kate, Katie Katko and her husband Nick, Marina Courtney and her husband Phil, Mary Kate Hoffmeier, Joseph D. Hoffmeier, Gio Calon, Abby Calon, Anna Glaser, and Lena Glaser; his great-grandchildren, Owen Lynch, Brooks Lynch, Claire Katko, and James Katko and Michael Cannata, IV; his nephews, Casey Wessner and his wife Linda, and Mickey Wessner and his wife Kathy; and his niece, Susan Latimore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Bernard Hoffmeier and his wife Ginny, Agnes Wessner and her husband Corky, and Mary Hart and her husband Watson; and his nephew, Fred Hoffmeier.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Monday February 23,2026 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18020 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. Burial with military honors will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Joseph's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
