David Emig Obituary

NEW OXFORD David H. Emig, 67, died peacefully Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at York Hospital with his family by his side. He was born May 2, 1941, in Hampton, the son of the late Robert F. and Helen E. (Fridinger) Emig. He leaves behind a loving wife of 43 years, Romaine F. (Bly) Emig; four loving children, three sons and a daughter, David W. at home, Gregory A. and wife, Pam of Hanover, Michael E. and wife, Dana of New Oxford and Lori A. Bare and husband, Robert of Hanover; seven grandchildren, Justin, Heather, Kia, Josh, Bobby, Jr., Dalton, and Michelle; and five sisters, Norma Arentz of Fairfield, Sylvia Miller and Rita Emig, both of York, Nancy Connelly Emig of Abbottstown, and Deborah Stephens and husband, James of York Springs. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald P., William R., and Harvey W. Emig; and a half brother, Wiley Norris. He was employed at York Building Products, Lincoln Stone Division of Thomasville, for over 30 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of the New Oxford Social and Athletic Club, the McSherrystown Moose, and the Upper Adams Fish and Game Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his Sunday drives with his wife and son across the countryside. Following cremation, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
