Dolores Klunk Obituary

NEW OXFORD Dolores M. "Pete" (Staub) Klunk, 81, died Monday, March 2, 2015, at Gettysburg Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Klunk, her husband of 60 years, who died January 10, 2014. Pete was born August 24, 1933, in New Oxford, the daughter of the late Cyril J. and Mary M. (Foreman) Staub. Pete was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in New Oxford, where she was also a member of the Marion Oxfordites, AARP, and she was a former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, plants, flowers, and working on puzzles and puzzle books. Pete is survived by a daughter, Linda M. Rue of Hanover; a son, David C. Klunk and his wife, Robin of New Oxford; a daughter, Margaret M. Hancock and her husband, Tony of Durham, N.C.; a son, John E. Klunk and his wife, Diane of New Oxford; a daughter, Dolores M. Klunk of New Oxford; a daughter, Rebecca J. Arter and her husband, Craig of McSherrystown; a son, George F. Klunk and his wife, Sarah of Durham, N.C.; a daughter, Joyce A. Klunk of Durham, N.C.; and a daughter, Carolyn L. Weaver of East Berlin; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred G. Staub and his wife, Yvonne of York; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth "Toots" Lawrence of New Oxford, and Leona M. Mowrer and her husband John of Hanover. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Steven Cochran and Tonya Klunk; and a brother, Cecil J. Staub. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Carlisle St, New Oxford, with Rev. Michael Letteer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with prayers at 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Klunk, Ryan Kennedy, Curtis Smith, Tyler Klunk, Taylor Hancock and Jake Klunk. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church or to Food For The Poor, 6401 Lyons Rd, Coconut Creek, FL 33073. Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com
