My sweet Gary. You are in my thoughts almost daily. We were best friends whenwe were teens in Hanover and when I came to see you at the Moose you always welcomed me with a kiss, open arms and big hugs. I will never stop missing you. Love to you my friend. C

My dearest Gary. We have been friends for over 60 years and I have learned so much from you. You taught me to play the pipe organ and he piano. You taught me how to shimmy and dirty dance. But most of all you taught me to be a likable person and a person who is true to my word by your example. From your example I learned how to be a friend. I think of you more often than I can say and you will always be my love.

Our thoughts and prayers are sent to all of Gary's family and friends. Robin and I met Gary on our first anniversary in 1994 at the Purple Moose. We enjoyed his conversation and his wit. He and his staff have made us feel welcome every time we walk in to his bar. We appreciate who Gary was and will always have a special memory of him in our minds and thoughts of him in our hearts.

Gary was a great guy! I worked at the Moose as a bartender in 1980, and he was an easy going boss, too.
Rest In Peace Gary. Love Linda Haas

We met Gary through one of his employees at the Moose years ago. He was always so kind to us; we shared laughs and talked football at the Moose with him many times over the years. He was a good man, may he rest in peace. Condolences and prayers going out to his family and friends.

My condolences to Gary's sister Nancy and his family along with his Purple Moose family. I went to school with Gary. Long time friend who I did crazy things with in our high school days back in Hanover, PA along with Julie. I remember his mother Gladys. I've visited Gary many of times at Ocean City. He was one of a kind jem. We talked and I planned on being at his 50th party at the Purple Moose along with my son. He worked hard to establish his bar. My heart is broken. I'll see him on the other side. You know what he will be doing eating bacon. Love you Gary. Sheena

Gary Walker was so much more than a client of Coconut Times - he was a dear friend. Over the years I have enjoyed the best bands and partied with the best friends there. We celebrated many a birthday together with Char & Terri, lovingly calling ourselves the 'Golden Girls.' I could always count on Gary for a big smile, funny quips and the greatest bear hugs. You know he had to be a fantastic boss because his crew came back year after year; and they were, and are, the best too. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the reality that he won't be there the next time I visit - which was several times a week for more than 20 years; until this terrible pandemic. Gary, I pray that you are resting easy in the arms of God and not giving him too much guff with your famous sense of humor. We will all miss you always.

Have visited Purple Moose many time over the years. My Husband back in the 80's added a new section onto the Moose and met Gary then and said he was a very nice Man. He also remembers Gary's games. So sorry for the tremendous loss. Prayers going out to his Family and Friends.

Gary was a highlight of my summer working in Ocean City in 2013. A true man of his word and one which made going to work a fun experience. A summer I will never forget and memories of the Moose I will cherish.

Gary was a great friend and the best boss that I've ever had. I pretty much grew up in the Moose and he has been there helping me all of the way. He was a very compassionate, kind, funny, and a very one of a kind person that you truly don't meet everyday. He will be missed by many. I learned a lot from him and he will always be in my memories.

Gary was always joking around but he cared about his friends and employees. He went above and beyond for others. You always knew when he was walking your way because he wore that Hollister California cologne that everyone absolutely loved but he would never tell anyone what kind of cologne it was. :) The purple moose won't be the same without him!

I thank Gary for his friendship and business mentoring when he hired me for two summers early in my adult years. Many fond memories in life from that opportunity where I met my wife, finished law school, served many years in the Marines and the PA House of Representatives and continue my law practice. I'll miss the Amstel light, crazy fun stories, Cadillac rides to AC and good business lessons. Keep rocking in your pink Cadillac Gary! PMS alumni 84 and 85,

I have known Gary from our high school days. We became friends and had many wonderful times over the years. He moved to OC right out of high school and worked hard to become a great businessman. He was special person who loved life. My sympathy to his sister, Nancy and his friends from the purple moose.
