John Brant Obituary

Mr. John Dale Brant, 79, of Bartlesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning at Grapevine, Texas.
Memorial services for Mr. Brant will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene with Dr. Randy Schuneman officiating. Memorial services and cremation are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to First Church of the Nazarene, 3650 S.E. Adams Blvd., Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006.
Mr. Brant was born on October 31, 1929 at Camargo in western Oklahoma, the son of Theodore and Vivian Lucille (Coursey) Brant. He grew up and received his education at Camargo and graduated from high school there. He was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company at Borger, Texas in 1948 and then served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his Honorable Discharge he returned to his employment with Phillips Petroleum Company in Borger, Texas for 15 years. During that time he attended Frank Phillips College in Borger where he received his Associates Degree and continued his education at a college in Canyon, Texas. He was married to Catherine Lou Trisler on December 19, 1953 at Fritch, Texas and they were married for 55 years this past December. They moved to Miami, Oklahoma in 1967 when he began his career in vacuum sales. In August of 1974 they moved to Bartlesville and established the Kirby Company of Bartlesville and he was the Kirby distributor for northeast Oklahoma. In 1992 the name of the business was changed to Sweeper City and they began carrying other vacuum brands. In recent years, Mr. Brant has turned the operation of the business to his son, Mark. Mr. Brant was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Bartlesville and was a member of the Senior Men's League at Adams Golf Course. He loved God and his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Catherine Brant of Bartlesville, two sons, Mark E. Brant of Bartlesville and Roger D. Brant and his wife Sue of Fort Worth, Texas, one daughter, Elaine B. Turner of Bartlesville, one brother, Bob Prichard of Amarillo, Texas, one sister, Kay Abshire of Oklahoma City, and four grandchildren, Melodye Brant, Shelby Brant, Stacey Turner and Shane Turner. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers.

We were so saddened to learn of the passing of our dear friend and wonderful churchman, Dale. In the pulpit across the years we have mentioned Dale's Big Happy Smile that would melt any heart. Our family have been talking about how happy yur family was always having a good time. You have been in our early morning prayertime each day. The Lord brings us a peace and hope in these times. Cathherine the Lord was ready for the Kirby Man Dale to come and give a clean sweek getting read for the Mirrage Supper of the Lamb. We will sooon meet Dale.
