William May Obituary

William "Bill" Edward May, 64, of Copan, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2017 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa.
Bill was born February 7, 1954 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to parents Edward Sherman and Helen Marie (Gibson) May. He was raised and educated in Copan. He graduated from Copan High School in 1972.
In 1974, Bill married the love of his life, Bonnie, in Bartlesville. The couple had one daughter, Chanda.
Bill was a very hard worker his entire life. He worked for Reda Pump for 14 years then worked as head of maintenance of the Copan School district for 22 years. He was a jack of all trades. He was a mechanic and a farmer. He loved going fishing with his wife and in his younger years, rodeoing. Bill also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Helen May and one sister Barbara Gibson.
Bill is survived by his wife Bonnie of the home; daughter Chanda Swalley of Bartlesville; grandchildren Cadence and Coen Swalley; sister Mary Long and husband Jack of Ochelata; nephews Jason and Justin Long and Curtis Gibson and a host of family and friends.
The family will greet guests from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Stumpff Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with graveside rites following at the Dewey Cemetery.
