Robert F. MacMillan

FLORENCE, S.C. - Robert Frederick MacMillan, 78, of Florence, died recently. Mr. MacMillan was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Miami to the late Daniel and Flora MacMillan. Mr. MacMillan was a U.S. Air Force veteran and the former owner of Friendly Pawn Shop in Fayetteville, N.C. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 33 years, Dawn MacMillan; a son, Robert MacMillan; and a brother, Frank MacMillan. He leaves behind a cherished memory of his son, David Wasserman of Charlotte, N.C.; five daughters, Julie Dorsch of Greenville, Wendy Ferguson of Tampa, Fla., Denean Pittman of Florence, Jacque Renne' of Durham, N.C., and Pender Epstein of Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Dan MacMillan of Fayetteville and Jack MacMillan of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Peggy L'Heureux of Chapel Hill, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Graveside services will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011, with the Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elmcroft Assisted Living, 3006 Hoffmeyer Road, Florence, SC 29501. All donations will fund the Robert MacMillan Picnic Area for the residents at Elmcroft to use and enjoy. Services entrusted to Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
