David Dowidat Obituary
David C. Dowidat, 65, of Fond du Lac passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. Dave was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin the son of John and Estelle (Leidholdt) Dowidat. He is survived by his daughter Sarah Dowidat of North Fond du Lac; his son, Scott (Angela) Dowidat, of Fond du Lac, and grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Mary Kay Alba of Fort Myers, Florida; his brother John (Bonnie) Dowidat of Oakfield, and his brother James (Gladys) Dowidat of Fond du Lac. Also surviving him are two nieces; two nephews; great nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Julie Jean.
Dave was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.
He grew up in Oakfield and became employed at Irv's Appliance Store in Oakfield. He owned Oakfield Fabric Care Center in Oakfield for many years. He worked as a heating and air conditioning technician most recently for Wesley Heating and Cooling. Dave loved to ride his Harley-Davidson and was a member of the Open Road H.O.G. Chapter. He especially enjoyed stopping to chat with the many people he knew.
VISITATION: Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 4-8 P.M. at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, 55 N. Prairie Rd, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Friday, February 20, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church with Reverend Michael Weigand officiating. Visitation will also take place on Friday at the church from 12 noon until the time of services. Burial will follow at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in his name.

Gonna miss you Dewey. Grew up together, rode together, camped at Sturgis together. Ill feel your hand on my back in the morning sun and hear your pipes in the wind when I listen at night. Dave was a sweetheart. I met him when I sold him and his wife a car many years ago. He was our furnace guy and a friend. A sweet man who will be missed.

We Got to know Dave through the Fond Du Lac Harley Owners Group and Bob's Harley-Davidson. He was a great person who will be riding free in Heaven. Ride on Dave !!!!!

I got to know Dave very well while working for Agnesian.
I will never forget the day he drove his lawn mower down the side walk and parked it in the ER parking lot. He was very proud of that and we laughed about this for a long time.
He was an amazing person and I am thankful I got to know him!

I remember Dave coming into McDonalds years ago when I work there. He always had time to say hi and have a little conversation. He was a very special man.
