Porath, Michael L.

Michael Luke Porath, 73, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Hospice Home of Hope.

He was born August 26, 1940 to Arlie and Thelma Papenfuss Porath. On August 25, 1962 he married Nancy Lee Sommers.

Michael worked at Giddings and Lewis for 33 years. He worked at Rolling Meadows Golf Course for 12 years and volunteered at the Hospice Home of Hope for six years. He also served in the Army Reserve. He loved golfing and fishing with his buddy Joe.

Survivors include his wife Nancy, of Fond du Lac; a brother Peter Porath of South Carolina; a son Tony (Melissa) Porath, of New London, WI; a daughter Julie (Kevin) Ebertz of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren Sam, Leah, and Ben Porath of New London, WI and Trevor and Paige Ebertz of Fond du Lac.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Paul Porath, and sister Mary Ann Gilmore.

Visitation: The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday March 2, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:45 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.

Services: A funeral service will be celebrated at 4:00 PM Sunday at Zacherl Funeral Home.
