William M. Hoskovec

Indialantic

William  Michael       Hoskovec, 59, of Indialantic, FL, beloved husband, best friend, proud father, son, and brother, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016. He was born in Coronado, CA on July 28, 1957 to William and Margaret Hoskovec.

Son of a naval flight officer, Bill moved often during his childhood, settling in Fairfax, VA. Bill obtained his Bachelor's degree at Shepherd University, W. VA in 1979. He went on to having a career in the public sector, receiving the National Paramedic/Firefighter starting at Bedington Vol. Fire Dept. in Martinsville, W. VA prior to moving to Brevard County. He served the Harbor City Vol. Ambulance Squad in a variety of capacities; including Field Training Officer and commending as President/CEO of the squad. Upon his completion of his EMS career he obtained a Master's Degree in Public Administration from UCF. Bill served twice as Town Manager of Melbourne Beach; was responsible for building a professional staff. He brought stability to the town staff which had seen much turnover. Yearly, he presented to the town commission a balanced budget. He was responsible for revamping the pier, Ryckman Park and implementing a voter approved bond issue to improve the town's storm water system. Toward that end, he cut town expenses by obtaining hundreds of thousands of dollars in state grants. In the interim, he served the citizens of Johns Island as Senior Manager assisting in reconstruction after the hurricanes of 2004/2005. He also served as President/CEO of ARC(Bridges) and dispatch coordinator at Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center.

Bill leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 25 years, Leslie, whom he adored; 2 wonderful children, (words could not express what they meant to him) Kaitlyn and Wil who attend FSU, and Sapphire his loving black lab. Mother, (Peg); sisters, Jan Hoskovec and Cathy Langnaes (Lars); nieces, Melissa and Michelle; brother, Bob Hoskovec (Jennifer); nephew, Bobby and niece Bethany; supportive mother-in-law, Fran Cerasoli; sister-in-law, Lisa Ladd; brother-in-laws, Peter Ladd (Cathy); a ture brother at heart, Paul Gougleman (Pamela); various aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous friends and his excellent team of doctors. He's preceded in death by his father "Bill".

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 29 at 1PM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community, Indialantic. Donations in his memory may be made to Space Coast Credit Union, Account # 106536-16, for the children's schooling.
