Doreen Martin Obituary

Doreen Ann Rulton Martin, age 76, of Drift, wife of Kermit Martin, passed away March 27, 2014, at the Hazard ARH.

Mrs. Martin was born Jan. 18, 1938, in South Harrow Middlesex, England, to the late Ernie and Nora Jones Rulton. She was a member of the Drift Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church, in Prestonsburg. She was also member of the Ministerial Association, a Kentucky Colonel, earned the Silver Beaver Award from the Cub Scouts, and worked as a Christian Service Ministry Worker.

In addition to her husband Kermit, she is survived by two sons, David Luke (Marcy) Martin, of Fairfield, Ohio, and Kermit John (Lois) Martin, of Drift; a daughter, Lorraine Ann Martin, of Drift; three brothers, Ernie Rulton, of Plymouth, England, and Ken Rulton and Martin Rulton, both of Luton, England; a sister, Jill Olsen, of Saskobing, Denmark; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Matthew James Martin; a brother, Roy Rulton; and two sisters, Margaret Osmond and Janet Palmer.

Funeral services were conducted March 30, 2014, at the Hall Funeral Home, in Martin, with Clark DeSarro-Raynal officiating.

The family requests contributions to St. Vincent Mission, 6369 State Highway 404, David, KY 41616.
