Carolyn Page

Carolyn Page (Major), age 89, died of natural causes on Friday January 10, 2025 in Cortland, N.Y.

Carolyn was born on April 12, 1935, in Elmira, N.Y. to George and Dorothy Page. She grew up in Wellsburg, Elmira, and Horseheads N.Y., graduating from Elmira Southside High School in 1952.

Carolyn married Joseph Major in 1954. The family settled in the Rochester, N.Y. area before relocating to Geneva, N.Y. Carolyn graduated from the Marion S. Whelan School of Practical Nursing in Geneva and worked as an LPN at Geneva General Hospital in the late 1970's. Carolyn and Joe then moved to Endwell, N.Y., where Joseph passed away in 1998.

Carolyn married Ken Page in 2000, relocating to Elmira, N.Y. Ken passed away in 2006. For the next 18 years she and partner Bill Evans enjoyed a strong caring relationship until Bill's passing in 2024.

Carolyn was an avid gardener, always maintaining plantings and gardens at her various homes. She was an accomplished pianist and played piano most of her life. She was an avid reader and kept a detailed diary of her life's events (big and small) for several decades. She loved family gatherings, often hosting holiday get-togethers.

Carolyn was predeceased by her sister Joan Kellogg, and is survived by her sister Margaret (Peg) Colucci; her four children, Deborah Conklin of Wellington, Fla, Patricia Major (Richard Porcelli) of Rochester, N.Y., Stephen Major (Brenda Contento) of Preble, N.Y., and Elizabeth Wenz (Thomas Taylor) of Little York, N.Y. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A remembrance service will be held in Spring 2025 in Homer, followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City, N.Y.
