James Marshall Obituary

WATERLOO - James F. Marshall, 90, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, (November 28, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital.
Family and Friends are invited to call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday (December 2) at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday (December 3) at Saint Mary's Church, 25 Center Street, Waterloo. Burial will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
He was born on April 2, 1923 in Junius, New York the son of the late, Herbert and Lena (Maney) Marshall. Jim was a 1940 graduate of Waterloo Central School, he graduated from Syracuse University and served in the U.S. Navy during the end of World War II. He worked for many years as a mason/carpenter and retired from Houtenbrink's Flooring as a supervisor.
Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 435, in Waterloo. He loved to read, enjoyed the outdoors, spent many hours in his garden, golfed almost every day until very recently including the Monday morning golf league. He enjoyed the horse races and was often seen playing cards on Wednesday night.
He is survived by his children, Paula (Wyatt) Nicholson, Jan (Christopher Dorn) Marshall, Jay (Ann) Marshall and Lori (John) Butlak; grandchildren, Eric, Jessica, Michael, Wyatt, Matthew, Mary and John; sisters-in-law, Lena DiPronio, Jane (Edward)Stephany and Joy DiPronio; his long time friend and companion, Patricia Alberts; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Palma R. (DiPronio) Marshall and all his siblings and their spouses Doris (Ernest) Wolfe, Hazel (Thomas) Cottrell and Herb (Agnes) Marshall.
