Michael Winder Obituary

WATERLOO- It is with great sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Michael Robert Winder, age 61, of Waterloo, N.Y. on August 18, 2024 at his home surrounded by family after an aggressive battle with cancer. While he left us far too soon, the impact he had on his friends and family will be felt for years to come.

Mike was the first born son of Robert and Patricia Winder, on December 9, 1962, in Interlaken, N.Y. He was one of five siblings: Penny (Harold) Mikkelsen, Gary, Candy and Kevin (Sue) Winder. Mike grew up rough housing with his siblings and working on a dairy farm, which he loved. He attended South Seneca High School. Mike always had a passion for development and ingenuity. Self-taught from the beginning, his technical skills were supplemented by employers and fueled by his desire to learn. Mike started his professional career at Triangle Steel. For the majority of his career, Mike was employed as a welding supervisor, followed by a fabrication supervisor, plant manager and finally the manufacturing and process development manager at Frazier Industrial Company for 30 years.

Mike met the love of his life, Staci, in 2000 at Frazier. This year marks their 24th year together. He loved his wife immensely. They spent their lives traveling the country together, often with his brother Kevin and sister-in-law Sue. The foursome spent their first year of retirement traveling south and settling in Florida for the winter months. He was always looking forward to their next adventure. Mike enjoyed NASCAR racing with his brother Gary. He also loved camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and tinkering with his antique John Deere tractors.

Mike's loving spirit is carried on by his wife, Staci (Trickler-Perdicho); his father Robert; his siblings; his daughters Mikaela (Aaron) Frost and Nicole (Mike) Wilcox; his stepdaughters Nicole (Larry) Kent and Alicia Perdicho; and his grandchildren Harley and Michael and many cousins, nieces and nephews..

Mike was predeceased by his beloved mother Patricia.

A Celebration of Mike's life will be held Saturday (September 7) from 1-4 p.m. at the Waterloo VFW Post 6433, 29 W Elisha St., Waterloo, N.Y.
