Alonzo Stevens Obituary

ALONZO "LONNIE" STEVENS, 60, of Woodburn, died suddenly, Friday, Sept. 21, 2007. He was born on April 2, 1947,in Fort Wayne, the son of the late Cullie and Sarah "Sally" (Lothamer) Stevens. He was a valued employee at Uniroyal Goodrich in Woodburn, and a member of United Steel Workers of America; social member of Antwerp V.F.W. Post 5087, and Woodburn American Legion Post 377. Lonnie married Gail Nutt on Aug. 20, 1976; she survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Linda Fay of Fort Wayne, Pam (Ken) Pitman of Antwerp, Dawn Stevens of Sweetwater, Texas, and Cristy (Eric) Emerick of Terre Haute; sons, Richard (Cheryl) Wolfe of Fort Lupton, Colo., Jeff Wolfe of Indianapolis, Alan (Judy) Stevens of Terre Haute, and Mike (Stacy) Stevens of Woodburn; sister, Michelle (Steve) Litzenberg; and niece, Stacy (Matt) Hopkins, both of Antwerp; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lynn. Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Jim Edwards officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. His family requests donations to Woodburn Fire Department. My deepest sympathy to Lonnie's family. He was a classmate and friend of mine in school. He will be sadly missed. We had many laughs and good times.
