Burton Carrier Obituary

BURTON CARRIER, died Monday, April 28, 2008, 9:35 a.m., Van Wert Manor nursing home after a recently diagnosed illness. Born Sept. 6, 1920, he was the son of Howard and Beulah (Gilbert) Carrier. He was born in Tully Township where he farmed his entire life. He was also a retiree of Aeroquip Co. He loved to work. As a young boy, he developed a love of horses as he helped his dad farm with them, and he brought this enjoyment back into his life by having horses in his retirement years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, W. Jean (Schwarck) Carrier; five daughters, Deanna (Tom) Mosier, Kay (Tom) Lambert, Beth (John) Muntzinger, Stella (Thane) Thatcher, and Lisa (David) Gibson; 14 grandchildren, Kelly Thomas, Christopher (Becky) Christman, Susan (Craig) Ludwig, Charles (Julia) Christman, Carrie (Cory) Bristol, Melanie (Jeff) Pumphrey, Adam (Evie) Muntzinger, Jenny (Tim) Herr, Jackie (Kevin) Looby, Jodi (Jerrett) Gordon, Sara (Tony) Bear, Katie Ford, Mark Gibson, and Jeanne Gibson; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and two sisters, Doris Meyer and Mable Ball. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Ball; one daughter, Robin Mascorro; and four grandchildren, Amy, Barbara, Burton, and Kevin. Funeral services is noon Thursday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Terry Martin officiating. Calling is from 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Convoy, Ohio.
