Denny was like the big brother I never had. Over the span of 40 years, we would banter and try to out wit one another. He was there for me when I lost my first husband, Rex D. Bercaw, my mother Ruby M. Kane, my grandson Bradford Rex Bego, and my second husband Richard L. Gartner. This was the kind of man he was, always there for someone in need no matter his own personal sacrifices. He, along with his associates, made sure I had the financial life I continue to have. I will always be indebted to him. His deep faith was apparent in everything he said and did.
To Deb, Matthew and the rest of his family, friends and associates you have my deepest sympathy. A heartfelt thank you for sharing him with my family and me. We will truly miss Denny.

What great memories I have of Denny, in his yellow Chevy, on the streets of St Joe! A stunning teenager who grew into a beautiful person, inside and out. So very very sorry for his death, he was a great guy and I see him in heaven with his Lord, my condolences to you both and his son, such a loss, too soon

I knew Denny for over 40 years. Denny was a great friend and neighbor to me and always had a positive outlook. He had a great sense of humor. He was a really good investment advisor. As one of his many clients , I learned a lot from Denny. May God bless his family and bring comfort through this time of sorrow.

Denny was a great guy who was always looking out for others. He encouraged me to get in better shape and with his encouragement I was able to do so. Hadn't seen him as much in the last few years but when I'd run into him at the store, he always had that great smile and it felt like no time had passed. He had a great sense of humor and would laugh at himself. His positive nature is a great example for all of us.

My husband and I met Denny when he was a young man starting his career by selling life insurance policies. He came to our home and explained the different policies and some financial planning we might do to give us a good financial future. We bought a life policy on my husband and Denny suggested setting up a Trust Fund to be used in our retirement. When my husband died quite young, I was able to stay at home with my three young sons and not have to work outside our home because the Trust Fund was available . There were some changes through the years to increase the value but now in my nineties I'm living on money basically started with Denny helping us to create the Trust Fund. His expertise with financial planning helped many families and leaves a remarkable legacy.

I knew Denny for over twenty years. He started as my mother´s financial advisor, became my husband´s and mine, and eventually our adult children´s as well. Three generations have benefited from his financial expertise. Three generations of trust. We always valued Denny´s sage advice. He never "pushed" anything on us, but always took the time to explain why he was making his recommendations and how they would fit into our overall financial plan. We learned a great deal about investing from him. He was equally adept at celebrating the wins when the market was up and keeping us calm and focused during the inevitable "reversions to the mean." I can still hear him talking about "Estate" taxes (emphasizing the first syllable to distinguish them from "state" taxes) and asking me to calculate our "Effective tax rate" (emphasizing that first syllable as well). Denny was the poster boy for the financial advisor everybody wants: knowledgeable, trustworthy, engaged, and reassuring. But Denny was more than a great financial advisor. He was a genuinely good man with a great sense of humor. He was kind, attentive, good-natured, warm, and genuinely interested in us and our family. And his smile...it could light up a room!
Deb, know that we share your loss. We know that Denny thought the world of you. He often told me that he and Nobby were lucky to have us as their wives. And I saw the love and gratitude in his eyes when we saw you both the last time and he thanked you for helping him shave. God bless you and keep you. May you find strength in knowing that your loss is being shared by many.

Denny was an amazing person. He helped me when I lost my husband, Danny, at a very young age. He was more than my financial advisor; he was my friend. He always had a smile on his face, and he made you feel very special. I will miss his infectious laugh and his hugs. Prayers for Deb and all who knew Denny,

Denny was "my new best friend" from Walk #1 and remained so in my heart and memory. I can see him hugging all the saints and seeing who he can get to try to look up a verse in Hezekiah, like he did with me (to roars of delight). I'll miss your wisdom and your love for others, but know I'll see you again. Prayers for Deb and the family.
