Gladwyn Hay Obituary

Gladwyn Del Hay, 81, of Middlebury, Indiana, passed away on February 4, 2025, Gladwyn D. Hay "Whitey" one of the most beautiful souls ever created by the God of the universe, left this world on February 4, 2025 at age 81, for a well-deserved Eternal home. Born on October 5, 1943 in Auburn, Indiana to Don and Leah Goe Hay. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Donna Watson & (Wilmer), Leola Saunders, brother Thurlow Hay & (Gail) son in-law Harvey Oshman and brother in-law Mike Roberts. Gladwyn graduated from Auburn High School in 1961. He worked faithfully for 43 years as a Tool & Die/Jig Bore with Dana/Eaton Corporation of Auburn, Indiana and also served as a Union officer for many years.

He was a God serving, selfless, humble, thoughtful, hard-working, loving, grateful, and caring person throughout his life. Family was his priority and leaving the world a better place with every encounter he had with another, was his life's motto. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. An avid golfer and member of the Railroaders, singer, wood worker, school bus and shuttle driver, gospel music lover and fisherman.

Those of us blessed to have enjoyed him for a life time, will try to live by the example we saw so joyfully displayed.

Wife - Nancy Roberts Hay, Daughters - Trina Hay Oshman, Erin & Charlie Casavant, Vanessa & Cory Eash, Emily & Don Williams and Angela Crawford. Grand children Carson & Nicole Eash, Lillian Eash, Dawson Williams, Leah Williams, Luke Williams and Eli Crawford. Sister Thais Ward & (Steve) and brother-in-law Joe Saunders. We are acquaintances from First Baptist Church, and bonded over our same last name! Probably related somewhere in the far past! Our prayers and condolences to Nancy and the family.
