DR. GUILLERMO GONZALEZ

DR. GUILLERMO GONZALEZ, 73, died on Thursday, April 4, 2013, in an auto mobile accident south of Sarasota, Fla. "He was a beautiful, honorable, ever-providing man who loved each and every one of his family until the very moment he died; he was the patriarch. He was a talented, well-respected neurosurgeon who was admired and loved by all those who knew him and who had the opportunity to work with him. He was adored by his patients, many of whom had a second chance at life because of his talented hands." He practiced for over 20 years as a partner at Fort Wayne Neurological Center. In Florida, he worked as Medical Director of Procedural Medical Solutions (a PICC line business he started with his daughter, Ana Maria Smith, RN). Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Maria Lucia; daughters, Sylvia Paris, Cristina Cardenas and Ana Maria Smith; grandchildren, William Martinez, Nicolas Martinez, Alexandra Cardenas, Juliana Cardenas, Gabriela Cardenas, Melissa Martinez, Nicolas Cardenas, Baden Smith, Bianca Smith, Lucas Cardenas, Beaumont Smith, and Blake Smith; and great-grandsons, Kingston Martinez and Maxim Martinez. "His family will miss him dearly; they hold him in their hearts forever, will remember him with their every last breath for he touched everyone in unique ways." A Memorial service was held on April 12, 2013 in Sarasota, Fla. His ashes will be buried at sea in a private ceremony.
