HENRIETTA AUGSBURGER Obituary

HENRIETTA H. AUGSBURGER, 92, of Berne, former of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Swiss Village, Berne. Born March 28, 1922, in Adams County, Ind., of Ermine and Mazie (Meadows) Bixler. She married Carl R. Augsburger on Feb. 11, 1945. She was a member of Cross Community Church, Berne and the Ladies Circle. While in Fort Wayne, she attended Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church. Henrietta was an Emeritus member of the Old Fort Settlers, Spinners Guild, and Embroidery Guild. She also attended and graduated from the Fort Wayne Art School. Her special interests included painting, art, spending summers at Lake Michigan and winters in Florida. She also assisted in painting the children's mural in the Berne Library Children's Department. Survivors include three daughters, Anita (Thomas) Wardell of Suffield, Conn., Susan Augsburger of Fort Wayne and Karen (Michael) Campbell of Mackinaw City, Mich.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death are her parents, and husband, Carl. Memorial service is 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at Swiss Village Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service. My sincere sympathy to the family of Mrs. Augsburger. My parents, Ruth and Dick Poiry were neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Augsburger when they lived in Brentwood Park. My mother always spoke very highly of her friend, Heni.
