JERRY W. ALLGOOD

JERRY W. ALLGOOD, 76, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Albion, died on Friday, July 12, 2013, at Parkview Hospital, in Fort Wayne. Born Sept. 28, 1936, in Evansville, Ind., he was the son of Griffin Lemar and Thelma (Bryant) Allgood. He graduated from New Haven High School in the Class of 1957, where he was on the Varsity basketball team. He was a service technician at GTE now Verizon and retired from there in 1998. He was a longtime farmer in Albion. "He adored his kids and was a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by many that knew and loved him." Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Terry and Cindy (Noland) Allgood of Austin, Texas, Mike Allgood of Albion, and Craig and Christine (Eddleman) Allgood of Ozark, Ala.; a daughter, Susie Centers of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, Joshua Allgood, Jennifer Allgood, Megan Allgood, Mandi Allgood, Cayden Centers, and Colton Centers; two great-grandchildren, Cruz and Marissa Allgood; brothers, Marion "Bud" (Bessie) Allgood and Dwyine "Dewey" (Doris) Allgood, both of New Haven; and sisters, Mary Lou Scrougham, Veronica "Ronni" and Sach Gathel, all of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his former wife, Sue Marie Clark, in 2010. Funeral service is noon Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Brazzell Funeral Home, Albion Chapel, with visitation from 10 a.m. to noon. Pastor Bob Crouse of Faith Baptist Church, in Columbia City officiating. Cremation will take place and he will be buried next to his parents at I.O.O.F Cemetery, New Haven.
