JOHN CRITCHFIELD Obituary

JOHN E. CRITCHFIELD, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at home in Georgetown Place, Fort Wayne. Born Nov. 23, 1927, in Huntington, Ind., he was the son of Vernon and Marion Critch field. After graduating from New Haven High School in 1946, he served in the Air Force for three years. He married Lois Whitacre on Sept. 3, 1949. John worked as a department supervisor in the home office of North American Van Lines, Fort Wayne, for 37 years before retiring. Surviving are his wife, Lois; daughter, Julia Ellen Critchfield Hughes; grandchildren, Johnathon Christian (Amanda) Hughes and David Jesse (Melody) Hughes; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick of Florida, Edward of Orland, Ind., Gene of Franklin, Ind., Alan of Grass Lake, Mich., and William of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by twin daughters, Annette Jean Critchfield Mote and Carol Jane Critchfield. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at Georgetowne Place, 1717 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations to a charitable organization of donor's choice or Indiana CFO, 6917 Embers Court, Fort Wayne, IN 46815.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to John's family, sorry for your loss. Jeremiah 29:11, 12 assures us that God is thinking thoughts of peace towards us, to give us a future and a hope, and that if we come and pray to Him, He will listen to us. May that bring you comfort in this time of sorrow.
