REV. PAUL R. HUNTEMAN

REV. PAUL R. HUNTEMAN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. The Hunte man family celebrated a bittersweet Easter this year. Paul suffered a massive stroke. In his son's Easter message, he said "1922 was Dad's first Easter. 2014 was his greatest!" Paul, an enthusiastic evangelist, devoted his life to serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He greeted everyone with a smile, often a hug and one question, "What church do you attend?" If they did not attend church, he lovingly invited them to worship. His parting comment was usually, "Keep smiling and lookin' up at Jesus!" During his ministry, Paul served the following Lutheran congregations: St. Paul's, Frankfort, Ind.; Second English, Richmond, Ind.; Our Saviour, Princeton, Ind.; St. Mark's, Uniondale, Ind.; St. Paul's, Bluffton, Ind.; St. Matthew's, Paducah, Ky.; and Eberhard, Columbia City, Ind. Although Paul retired in 1984, his ministry continued until April 19, 2014. Paul is survived by his sweetheart of 68 years, Mabel Alice Fruchtnicht - Hunteman; one son, Rev. Paul Barry (Kay) Hunteman of The Villages, Fla.; six daughters, Linda (Mark) Pillar of Columbus, Ind., Jane (Tim) Kunkel of Bluffton, Ind., Christine (Dan) Hunt of Craigville, Ind., Karen (Tim) Krinn of Uniondale, Ind., Mary (Mike) Blair of Bluffton, Ind., and Lisa Sweet of Ossian, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Dennis; daughter, Vickie; and grandson, Chase. A service celebrating Paul's life is 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Uniondale, Ind., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Thoma / Rich, Lemler Funeral Home.
