RICHARD WEBBER Obituary

RICHARD N. "DICK" WEBBER JR., 82, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 in North Carolina. He was born May 20, 1929 in New York City. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University Mechanical Engineering program in 1952. He worked for General Electric for 38 years and retired in 1990 as the National Sales Manager, Motors Division. He worked at the Fort Wayne plant in Sales Marketing. He and, his wife, Ruth lived in Fort Wayne from 1954-1965 where he coached little league at Weiser Park. He attended church at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he sang in the church choir. He helped create the Slim Chalmers Fund, a charity focused on youth swim instruction through the Henderson County, N.C. YMCA. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Ruth H. Webber; sister, Rosemarie Webber Marsiglia; six children, Major General [Retired] Richard E Webber, Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Webber, Renee Webber Gauchat, Ruthann Webber Weil, Raymond Webber, and Robert Webber; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
