ROBERT L. CUMMINS, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, at his home. Born May 19, 1940, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Vernon V. and Eva J. Cummins. Robert graduated from North Side High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1960 to 1965. He was a Fort Wayne Police officer for 21 years and retired in 1986. He also worked for the Allen County Coroner and retired in 1986. His memberships included F.O.P American Legion 499, Indiana State Coroner's Association and the Eagles Lodge. Robert is survived by his daughter, Leann Cummins of Fort Wayne; former spouse, Sharon (Wayne) Taddio of Fort Wayne; aunt, Marjorie A. Bourne; cousins, Nancy (Terry) Kimbel and Dan (Stephany) Bourne; nephew, John (Trudy Miller) Warren; and nieces, Debra Stone and Vicky (Todd) Berkey. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon MacDonald; and cousin, Michael Bourne. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at the funeral home.
