Farewell Uncle Russ. My childhood memories are filled with your kindness and generosity. Swimming at your pool, playing basketball at your house, all the cousins together at the lake or Grandpa and Grandma's with that silver Christmas Tree. Those early years mean so much to me. Your easy laugh, kind smile and love for all children inspired the tone for my own family life. I'm going to think of you in heaven with the love of your life, Aunt Mac and playing cards with your beloved brothers. Know you left a legacy of love with your children and Grand-children, love that they will carry on to theirs and beyond that. Love to all.

Rob and family,
My prayers are with you. I'm sorry I could not be there to show my respect in person due to business travel; however, know that Mr. Sordelet has a special place in my heart. He showed Christ's love in many ways. His warm smile; his example of doing what was right and his humble strength all had an impact on me. Of course I can't forget his sense of humor. I'm thankful to have known him. Love all of you.

As a friend of his son, Terrence, Russ and Maxine welcomed me so hospitably into their home on many occasions over the years. Even after Maxine's death, Russel opened his home to me and another friend (Trish Haley), took us to his favorite breakfast place in the morning, and made us feel so very welcome. If he is welcomed into the next world with only a fraction of the hospitality he showed others, he will indeed feel much at home. I can just imagine he and Maxine having coffee or a meal together, now reunited, and the love on both their faces. My heart goes out to all who will miss him here.

He was my brothers best friend and his Gladeaux family and my Goodman were friends all my life. Great family and Russ became a very important part of it when he married Maxine. Love them all and prayers and blessings along with our heartfelt sympathy.

As a former neighbor in New Glenwood and customer of the dry cleaners, I knew Russ just well enough to know what a gracious and good man he was. He had an engaging manner that invited conversation. I enjoyed every moment of our brief chats and I'll always appreciate his occasional presence in my life. My deepest sympathy to the family.
