TAD DAIGLE Obituary

TAD AARON DAIGLE, departed this life unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023. He was a treasured son, brother, uncle, and friend. Born in Marietta, Ga., on May 29, 1971, he grew up in Fort Wayne. After graduation from Ball State University with a BS degree, his passion for music drew him to Austin, Texas, which he ultimately called home. Tad was a talented musician and spent several years playing live and recording original music in the bands Senator Dillwilly and Jackie Fly and continued to create and record music on his own for years afterward. Tad also sketched, painted, and had his artwork shown and sold at galleries in Austin. Most importantly, Tad was an awesome human. He didn't tolerate a lot of nonsense but had a caring and generous spirit. He never hesitated to help, and had a sharp wit that could be self-deprecating and offbeat; he had the ability to create a hilarious story out of just about any situation. Tad remained close with friends he kept for over 40 years and enjoyed biking the trails around Austin, goofy B movies, and savoring local cuisines in Austin and places he traveled. A few lessons from Tad's life might be: "Live life on your own terms, and enjoy. Try not to be a jerk. And wear a big ol' hat if you're going out in the sun" Tad is survived by his father, Eugene Daigle; sister, Julie (Alex) Machado; nephew, Edward Machado; niece, Melissa (Samuel Stuck) Machado; great-nephew, Jasper James; and many friends, who were a second family to him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Barnett Daigle. Celebration of life gatherings will be held in Austin and Indiana. Preferred memorials to KOOP Community Radio in Austin or the Austin Trail Conservancy. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
