Over the years she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, volunteered at the library and was involved with the Camp Fire Girls. I was blessed to have met Dorothy as she was retiring from Jones & Beach, as I was her replacement. We had many talks together and I learned that she was a scrap booker, like me. Well, before I knew it I was going to Mary Jane's to scrap and met Dorothy's fsmily. What a family, I was welcomed in and felt at home. Ken and Dorothy raised a most wonderful, caring, kind and beautiful family. I am so grateful to have known Dorothy and learned many lessons from her about life and living it. During this diffcult time and the times to come, Dorothy is not far away from our hearts. Heaven has a new angel. She will remain in my heart, always. Peace and prayers to all the Chadwicks and her family, Leigh Estelle

I saw Dot and Ken last week at Harvey's and cannot believe that she is gone. The last thing she said to me was that where we meet there so often we will have to have breakfast together soon. Paul and I agreed. Wendy and Ken and the rest of the family, you have our heartfelt sympathy. Helen and Paul

When I heard of Dot's passing my mind immediately displayed the moving images of a smiling, movie star beauty as she glided around Aunt Mary's table in Methuen helping serve dinner. Her brother Jimmy proudly shared she spent her life this way, helping others. Pat added, perhaps jealously, that Dot had that hour-glass figure into her forties. I then processed the scores of times I visited the Chadwicks in Dover with my dear Uncle George. Always a good meal, fellowship and a houseful of smiles. My first memory of a speeding ticket was Uncle George being pulled over doing 90+ on the way to Dover from Alton Bay, no doubt thinking of that meal:-)

In talking with Dot's soul mate Kenny he said with the passion and conviction that a lifetime of memories with Dot had honed, "She always loved seeing you Billy". It brought a smile to my face as I saw the memory of Dot float into my mind from Thanksgiving 2009 when she hugged me with that precious smile of hers saying, "It's so great to see you Billy". Wendy reciprocated as I admired how similar both these beautiful woman were. I fondly remember all her children and will forever be able to recant their names with ease, Patricia, Christine, Wendy, Kenny and Mary Jane, whom I was blessed to see before she was even born.

I also remember helping move some things at her home in Dover just after Uncle George died where she pulled me aside and told me I was welcome in her family's home anytime. At the time I was sixteen and couldn't help admire and appreciate how wonderful an expression it was because it was passionately genuine. Everything about Dot was genuine, including her humor.

In visiting Mary Jane and Jerry thanksgiving 2009 in Hudson the conversation somehow brought up Betty Boop. They both broke out laughing and looking at one another with a high-schoolish 'should we tell him or not look'. I was puzzled as Mary Jane got up belly laughing as she left the living room to return with a Betty Boop for her and a Popeye for Jerry that they both proudly proclaimed would be their final resting places. It brought me such great joy that Pat helped me remember the punchline when she told me that Dot had scoured the flea markets in search of a Betty Boop for her dear sister. Dot of course would find it! Pat laughing heartily recalled Mary Jane dancing with glee as Dot presented her with the prized Betty Boop. Dot added with that laugh that could melt a heart, "Don't expect any flowers after all the money I spent on Betty Boop Mary Jane".

Dot you are and will be forever missed! Love - Billy

Ken and Family,

Dorothy was an amazing woman. I worked with her at Jones and Beach. She was like a mom to me. Every year she would make Christmas ornaments for me and the kids. They would look forward to it every year. We still hang them on the tree each year and remember what a special person she was. We will hang them this year with special thoughts.

I feel very privileged that I could have come to know her. She was thoughtful, selfless and caring. I couldn't have asked for a better friend (especially in a workplace). I will always remember her in a special way.

Our entire family is praying for comfort and peace to be with your family through this process.

Sincerely,

She holds a very special place in our hearts as she witnessed Ken marry us in her living room on Feb 2,1995. It was a secret only a few knew about, the actual ceremony was Feb 19. It is a special memory we shared, and I couldn't think of a more wonderful person to share it with.
