John Cuff Obituary

John "Jack" Cuff, 72, of Chester Street died Monday 6/2/25 at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Montague on December 6, 1952, the son of Thomas W. and Alma Cuff. Jack attended local schools and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School, Class of 1970. Jack served in the United States Navy Seabees during Vietnam. He was a construction electrician, receiving the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. Jack was a controls electrician at the Erving Paper Mill for thirty-nine years until his retirement. He enjoyed photography, golfing and cooking. In earlier years, he enjoyed boating and camping. Jack loved his three German short haired pointers, Jackson, Maggie and Daisy and his cat "Kitty". One of his greatest joys was restoring the 1923 Millers Falls Antique Fire Truck. Jack was a member of the Montague Elks. Besides his beloved wife of forty five years, Teresa (Malinowski) Cuff, Jack leaves his daughter, Jennifer Grace and her husband John of Turners Falls; his grandsons, Ryan Grace of Turners Falls and Cooper Grace and his partner Kim Rau of Okeechobee, FL; three great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas E. Cuff of Andover, MA; a sister, Mary Ann Cuff of FL and ME; a brother-in-law, Joseph Malinowski of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brother, James Cuff. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday 6/20 at 11am at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Turners Falls. A calling hour will be held Friday morning from 9:30-10:30am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Regional Dog Shelter, 10 Sandy Lane, Turners Falls, MA 01376. Terry and family,
I am so very sorry to hear of Jack´s passing. Jack and I grew up together in Millers Falls. I have known him since elementary school. He was a kind, gentle and funny guy. He will be missed by all who knew him.
