Richard Lowell "Dick" Thomas (86) of Hanover, PA and formerly of Mt. Airy, MD passed away on June 2, 2024. Born December 29, 1937, he was the son of the late Sebastian "Bretz" and Ella Mae "Nellie" Thomas, and the beloved husband of Theresa Thomas for 60 years.

Dick graduated from Poly (Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) in 1956 and worked for the State of Maryland Roads Commission while attending The University of Baltimore where he graduated in 1966 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. During these years, he also served in the Maryland Army National Guard.

Dick began his federal government career in 1966 with Internal Revenue Service and retired in 1996 as an Audit Branch Chief and Supervisory Auditor with the Office of Personnel Management, Office of the Inspector General. After retirement, he tried his hand at real estate and continued to provided tax services to family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to the beach.

Dick's priority was family for which he provided unwavering support throughout his life. Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter, Diane Thomas of Mt.
