Thomas Trott Obituary

Thomas Berry Trott Sr, 85, of Frederick, MD passed away on May 6, 2025. Tom was born on December 4, 1939, in Baltimore to Joseph Jennings Trott Sr and Doris K. (Lang) Trott. He initially lived in East Baltimore (Patterson Park) before moving to West Baltimore and graduating from Forest Park High School in 1958. Tom enlisted in the Army and proudly served in Korea as a part of the Army Security Agency.

Tom met the love of his life, Elaine (Lautenberger), on March 15, 1963; They were married exactly three months later. Tom is survived by "His Bride," Elaine, and son, Tom Jr. (Jeannie) and daughter, Laura (Chris) Hohn.; in addition, to his grandchildren; Thomas (Allison); William (Rebekah); Allison; and Sara.

Tom spent his business career in the insurance industry. He was a long-time employee of BB&T / Frederick Underwriters. His love for the Frederick community was evident in his volunteer activities with Veteran Organizations, the Elks, the Jeanne Bussard Center, and the local Air Shows. His most fulfilling times were spent as a founding member and President of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek. For many years, Tom was one of the Fine Master's for the RCCC where he enjoyed sharing the accomplishments of his fellow Rotarians and eliciting a few laughs along the way.

Tom's greatest passion was his family and he had adoring nicknames for each of us. He never missed an activity involving his children or grandchildren. Many will remember his cheering from the stands. A great vacation planner, he always managed to have surprises for all of us. Most recently, the Family enjoyed a trip to Williamsburg to celebrate Tom & Elaine's 60th wedding anniversary. Tom and Elaine enjoyed some epic vacations to Australia, Europe, and their favorite spot in the world, Kauai, Hawaii where they celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Thanks to John and Debbie Molesworth for their friendship and support during his medical journey. Cheers to Nezih, Rick, Mario, Cooper, Ralph, and Mohammad for the wonderful culinary experiences that Tom loved so much. Private services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Thomas Trott, Sr.
