Adrianne Danielle Simien

Adrianne Danielle Simien was born on January 9, 1981, in Washington D.C. She passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Adrianne was the second born child of Luther Simien, Jr. and Cora Ann "Lenore" Simien.

As a young child, Adrianne traveled often and lived in Hawaii, Oregon, and California, and she ultimately settled in Spotsylvania, Virginia, which is where she spent the remainder of her adult years.

Adrianne was a graduate of Chancellor High School, Germanna Community College, and Strayer University, where she graduated with a Master of Science degree, magna cum laude. In 2022, she began her pursuit and was progressing toward completing her Doctorate with Liberty University.

Adrianne served in the role as a Lead Platform Engineer for Capital One Financial Services, culminating in a 24-year tenure. She excitedly entered a new career as an Optometric Technician with Clarkson Eyecare in 2025. She was a proven business professional and will always be remembered as dedicated and determined to excel.

Adrianne was preceded in death by her sister, Tracye Elain (Simien) Young. She leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving father; mother; brother, Aaron Christopher Simien and wife Mallory of Cleveland, Ohio; one nephew; three loving nieces; one step-nephew; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 14, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

My deepest sympathies on the death of your daughter, Adrianne. My baby boy Kevin, at 3 1/2 years old died in 1998. My heart breaks for you and I know the ups and downs you are feeling and will be feeling. There are no words to comfort us in the loss of a child. I am also The Compassionate Friends Fredericksburg Chapter Leader which is a self-help support group for all bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents who have lost a child.
