Lane Edwards
Lane M. Edwards, 55, of Fredericksburg passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.
He worked in the construction field his entire life. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the adult soccer league, CSL. He was involved in youth sports, coaching his children in baseball, basketball, softball and soccer.
Lane had a strong dedicated love for his family and faith. His passion for life will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne M. Edwards; his four children, Patrick L. Edwards, Eric M. Edwards and wife Lindsey, Sara J. McEvoy and husband Joseph, and Kevin J. Edwards; four grandchildren, Audrey, Gracelyn, Erin and Jackson; and three brothers and three sisters.
A Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Covenant Funeral Service, 1310 Courthouse Road, Stafford, with the Rev. Donald Rooney officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 6, with a rosary at 5:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to D.C. Scores, 1224 M St., N.W., Suite 200, Washington, D.C. 20005 and Fredericksburg Big Brothers Big Sisters, 325 Wallace St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401-3122.
