I'll miss you Walker! I owe you big time, you drove me to the sensitivity group where I met my future wife. It was an honor to be an RA with you in East Shaw. So glad we could get together again a few years ago at an MSU football game. By the way, my sister really liked you---lots!

Brian, I just heard about your passing and can't believe it. I last saw you at Nancy's wake and was happy to see you and Sally. You gave me a job at Universal when I was an EMT-Specialist and then went on to get my Medics License. I was the first female Paramedic to work in Sterling Heights and for Universal Ambulance You gave me the chance but said "you know you will be working with all men" and nobody would work with me being a female. It was unheard of at Universal Ambulance Service as it was called then. George Dreske said he would work with me and the confidence of Ron Matthews and Tom Stewart, I paved the way for the rest of the females to work for Universal. I thank you for the experience I had working the road and will never forget you. My condolences to Sally and the rest of the Walker family. I would have been there to say my goodbye had I known. May you my friend Rest In Peace.

My most heartfelt condolences to the entire Walker family. I have had the honor to work for Brian for over 23 years. He was always a ever strong presence at work. With his always quick wit and dry sense of humor. To the average person, Brian was this serious business man;forever stern. But to those of us who worked for Brian for a long time, got to see another side of him;the human side. Brian was always known for helping out other municipalities and EMS companies, but he had such a big heart. He was always concerned about his employee;his "family." There are many people who could tell you of a time where Brian was there to help or lend an ear. I, personally can attest, that when I was having a pretty rough time in my life, Brian called me at home, out of the blue, and offered support. It's those things that I will most remember about Brian. Godspeed Brian.

Brian, you gave a whole lot of people jobs that helped provide for us and our families. I thank you for that. I have quite a few fun memories of you. I would say "Hi Brian, how are you doing today?". You would always say "eh, I'm old". Doesn't seem like a lot, but to me it was a funny thing to hear from someone like you. I will never forget the time I saw you dance down the hallway to your office. Hilarious. You were one of the few men I truly respected. Regardless of what problem us "troops" caused or had. We still felt like you "had our backs". You can rest easy knowing that your son's will take the reins and continue to drive your legacy forward. Rest in peace. You have earned it.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Brian's passing. I have known him, as well as worked for him for close to 40 years. Brian always held Universal to the highest standard, placing Service and Standard of Care first and foremost, and never waivered from that. Often times, going above and beyond to provide the best resources and assistance possible to all that requested help. To Sally, Charlie, Duncan, and the entire Walker Family, You are in my highest thoughts and prayers. I am currently visiting my Son in Orlando, FL, and truly regret not being able to pay my respects personally. Brian's absence will no doubt leave a noticeable void, at home, at Universal, as well as in the entire EMS System. R.I.P. and Godspeed Brian!

My heartfelt condolences to the entire Walker family. I will be forever grateful for the chance to have known Brian, the chance he gave me to better myself, and the lessons he taught me. He was a highly respected man, with a heart of gold, that I will always be proud to say I worked for. He cared about the welfare of each and every one of his employees, and it showed. He will be greatly missed.

Brian's enthusiasm for and knowledge of the ambulance industry will be sorely missed. He was a colleague and friend. Someone that I could bounce an idea or an issue off of. And he never left you wondering what he thought about the idea or issue!
He was Michigan resident ambulance industry historian. I will miss our talks.
Rest In Peace, Brian You've earned it.
