Judy Shaughnessy Obituary
St Clair Shores - Judy Shaughnessy (70), of St Clair Shores, passed away at her home on December 17, after displaying tremendous strength throughout her battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Judy was born April 2, 1947, in Detroit to Leon and Marian Brusseau. She was a graduate of Southeastern High School and went on to be a paraprofessional at South Lake Schools for 26 years. Judy married the love of her life John Shaughnessy on April 25, 1970 at Saint John Berchman Catholic Church in Detroit. They raised three daughters and heavily contributed to the upbringing of their granddaughter. Judy was a passionate and caring woman with contagious laughter and an energetic spirit. Judy enjoyed crocheting, shopping, cooking, walking and driving by the water, as well as spending time with her family. She loved to entertain and was an active member of the community, and a friend to many. Her beautiful smile and loving nature provided comfort and happiness to all who knew her. Judy is survived by her husband John, brother Raymond (Irina) Brusseau; sister, Carole (Chuck) Brandt; daughters, Sally (Nick) Gerhardt, Amy Shaughnessy (Ryan Hildenbrand), Susan Shaughnessy (Vic Grunas); granddaughter, Hannah Apostolou (Jarred McDuffey), and dogs Teddy and Sampson. A memorial visitation for Judy will be held, Sunday, January 7 from 2-6pm with a service at 6pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave, St. Clair Shores, MI 48081. Judy's family wishes to thank Henry Ford Hospice (33464 Schoenherr Rd Suite 140, Sterling Heights, MI 48312) and ALS of Michigan (24359 NW. Hwy Suite 100, Southfield, MI 48075) and is accepting donations to these organizations in lieu of flowers.
