LLOYD EUGENE Passed away at home on April 25, 2016 in Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Smith was born December 15, 1922 in Pontiac, MI. He was a longtime resident of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Mr. Smith started his career right out of high school as a builder and land developer in Pontiac, Birmingham, and Bloomfield Hills areas. He operated in the Orlando, FL environs prior to the opening of Disney World. He developed thousands of acres of land in both Michigan and Florida. He was a past member of the Builders Association of Metropolitan Detroit, The Detroit Rotary Club and Oakland Hills Country Club. He served on the Board of Directors of the Pontiac State Bank from 1984-1988. Through Michigan Cancer Foundation he established the Marilyn J. (Beers) Smith Breast Cancer Research Fund in memory of his first wife. He continued as a benefactor of MCF and many other charitable organizations in MI. In FL he was a member of the Royal Palm Yacht & C.C. and supported many charitable organizations. He was an avid gardener/landscaper, 6-wicket Croquet player, and card game devotee. He will be remembered as a hardworking, loving gentleman of the highest integrity. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy Lutomski Smith; children, Barbara Ollesheimer, Nancy Christiansen (Dave), Gary B. Smith (LInghua); and Paul C. Smith. Also, step-children, Lisa Brown (Geoffrey), Katy Foster (Patrick), and Michael G. Lutomski III; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Ottawa Park Cemetery Chapel, 6180 Dixie Hwy., Clarkston MI 48346, 11:00 a.m. on June 25, 2016.
